On saturday everyone got ready and headed down to the restaurant at the hotel to have breakfast. Allie had a couple of eggs, while I had a deep fried donut that was covered in blueberries. I definitely wasn't expecting it to have the blueberries but it was still good, and for those who know me well I still ate it. From there we went down to the manary's house and got our invitations for vbs ready to be passed out. We had 600 invites that we needed to add labels to and our team got right to work, we finished them in about 30 minutes. When we finished those we climbed into Bro. Manary's vans which holds 16 people and headed to Doicesti to pass them out door to door. We broke up into 3 teams with a couple Romanians on each team to translate if anyone wanted to know more. Philip and I were on a team and had a great time talking and passing out the flyers. One group went through apartments where they hit every door with a flyer and the last group went through the streets hitting the houses nearby. When we had finished getting that whole area we went to a neighboring city Shotanga and passed out the remaining invites for vbs.
After we finished passing out flyers we were pretty close to where they are building the new church building, they call it "the land" and we got to take a tour of the building. It's a beautiful piece of property right next to a huge river where they will be able to baptize, during the summer only of course. It was very cool to see the progress (pictures to be uploaded soon), they have been building on it for over 2 years and it looks really good. We then headed to lunch at a restaurant named Tuscany, Romanians don't know the American concept of fast food/quick service, they really like the idea of spending time talking and fellowshipping which meant lunch took about 2 hours. After lunch which was about 3pm we were very tired, but bro Dave had a surprise for us. He took us to see the real Draculas castle. It is partly in ruins now but the tower was still intact. There was a couple of places that were pretty cool to imagine what went on when people still lived there. It was a cool place to visit and get to tour... we didn't take too long there and afterwards we all went back to our hotel to rest up for a bit. At about 8:30 we headed back to the manary's, had dinner, and then had our nightly devotional/testimony time. The nightly devotional time is one of my favorite times where our team can come together, reflect on the day and spend some time in Gods word before shutting the day down. Tomorrow is Sunday and the team will be in services here in Pucioasa. I will be preaching so please say a prayer for that!! Goodnight everyone!!
