On Tuesday our team was able to take a day and relax, have fun, and bond. We were able to get some discount tickets from a member of the Anaheim church and go to Disneyland!!!!! It was a great day of fun and fellowship. We spent the whole day there except from 1-3:30 where we were able to go back to Bro Craigs house, eat lunch, take a power nap and head back out. The fellowship on this trip is so sweet and we were so blessed to be able to go with Bro Craig and hang out at one of his favorite places... and mine too :) We got to bed around 1:30AM and knew we had a big day ahead of us. Much of the preparations and decorations had already been completed for VBS on Saturday but today we had to finish the pier pylons, and construct a lighthouse. I will post pictures of this lighthouse that we(the guys) are constructing because it is amazing. Bro Craig, Bro Cole, and Bro Bruce have put a lot of time and effort into making this lighthouse and it is awesome. Sis Katie and I did a lot of the little items such as getting the game ideas all worked out, made some crew signs, finished the pier pylons along with lounging in a hammock watching the guys and their power tools :) We all got ready for VBS and are prayed that God would send kids our way to be able to SHINE GOD'S LIGHT(our vbs theme) tonight. Sis Katie and myself were crew leaders and Bro Cole headed up the games. It was a blast getting to be involved in VBS with the La Habra church. Our VBS director Sis Vicki is awesome, she is so sweet and nice and very detailed, she wants the kids to have the best experience... her husband Bro Brian was our ship leader at the music and more station and did a great job. The kids were encouraged to SHINE GOD'S LIGHT everywhere they go. It was an awesome first night. When we got home we had dinner, and did our nightly testimony/reflection/devotional time and thought oh its not that late we will be able to get in bed early and get a good nights rest for tomorrow... we started our reflection time at about 10 and it didn't end until 1:30AM. It was awesome!!!!! God has put exactly who needed to be on this team and we are so thankful. We have already created some awesome relationships and I know its only going to get better. Keep praying for us, our team, the church here in La Habra, and pray that Satan doesn't get in and ruin this awesome thing God has going. We are excited and hopeful for more kids tonight so we can share Jesus with them!!
Even though this trip isn't in a foreign country there are still some things that are a little strange... did you know you can't park on the street in La Habra and the surrounding cities when the street sweeper comes or else you'll get a ticket??? Neither did we... and one of our team members got a ticket :( All in all this has been a great first trip inside the United States, and I pray that our team has been an encouragement to the church here and the pastor.
